You can't go wrong with DQ in my opinion! This location is the closest to my apartment and I usually go here a few times in the summer (mostly through the drive thru). It's located in a great community in Grandview and in a popular area on 5th Ave.
It's a unique DQ because you actually cannot go inside. It's like an old school Dairy Hut model where you either choose the drive-thru or walk up to the window. On a summer evening, there are usually a lot of people in the front window area and there is ample seating out back and a few benches to the side.
I've never been disappointed going to this DQ. I opt typically for just a blizzard (Oreo Cheesequake is my fave!). However, on my most recent trip, I also got a chili dog and fries. I normally do not like their fries, but these ones were super fresh and tasty. My mouth started watering as soon as they handed me the bag!
Only call outs about this location is that the parking/drive-thru is super tight, especially if you come at the wrong time. I also don't like that you can't turn left out of the drive-thru back onto 5th (although let's be honest, I've done it quite a few times).
All in all, I'll keep coming back. I wish there was a location closer to the Short North, but this one in Grandview helps me get my DQ fix every now and then! -

This Dairy Queen is always packed! I'm giving two stars because the ice cream was great and the lady through the drive through was kind. We didn't check our food before we left and when we got home this is what we got.
The lady recommended both the Honey BBQ and Sweet and Spicy, but there is no sauce on them. It looks like they drizzled some on top and was in a hurry and didn't care.
We thought about going back and asking to replace them, but it's too late and they would close before we got back.!highly disappointed! -

Worst blizzard I've ever received. I don't know how you can make a bad one, but a large cup of vanilla soft serve with 12 pieces graham and chocolate in it posing as a s'mores blizzard is a good start.
Kept hoping it was on the bottom, but it wasn't. I live 15 minutes away and they're closed, so vanilla soft serve it is. -

Tonight was a horrible experience! Girl at the drive through was rude and difficult to understand! I ordered the chicken strips and waffle and they asked if I I wanted any sauce. I said just the syrup. She told me that was only free if you got the basket otherwise they charge you for the syrup. I have ordered this multiple other times at this location and never asked if I wanted syrup or charged for it. Every time I ordered something she'd say wait a minute! Wow! Not can you please hold on?! Then they didn't even get the sundae on the order. Then they forgot the whip cream and put it on over the nuts. I asked for my receipt and she said the machine wasn't working. Save yourself and go somewhere else! This is some of the worst customer service ever!

It seems that everytime I decide to go everyone goes. There is usually a long line and if you park , it is hard to back out. Small parking lot. Always great treats of ice cream. Just hopefully you dont have to wait @ least 10 minutes in drive through.
